What equipment do I need for the WE-Test?

Nothing, we ship you the kit with the necessary materials and you send everything back to us. It’s that easy. If you need more information on how to package and send your samples, check out our instructional video at: https://vernebio.com/protocols-training-videos/

Why do I need to send my plant material in separate bags?

We advise you to send your plant material to use in separate bags (which are provided) to eliminate cross contamination between the leaves from different plants. This ensures accurate test results for each individual plant. If you need more information on how to collect, package and ship your samples, check out our intsructional video at: https://vernebio.com/protocols-training-videos/

What is the testing process for Hop Latent Viroid?

If you want a quick "yes, this plant has HpLVd" or "no, it does not", an i-Test will give you a fast answer on-site with a few simple steps.

If you want a more qualitavite report on what plants are affected, if the infection is active or latent, and infection levels, a We-Test will provide that by running your plant samples in our lab.

To learn how each process works, check out our intsructional video at:

https://vernebio.com/protocols-training-videos/

Is it better to sample from the roots or leaves?

Plants can have various infection patterns. We recommend taking multiple parts from the SAME plant to get the best results. The parts we recommend choosing from are the leaf, root or petiole (new leaf on the lowest branch).

If you take root, make sure it is clean. Soil in the root sample can greatly affect your results.

Are control tests reusable?

No, control sets are not reusable, one is required for each i-testing session you plan to do. Controls not only give you a color comparison to read your result with, but also are a way to tell if the test was completed properly.

What is the difference between the old incubator and the new incubator?

The new incubator comes with a built in program to run the i-Test with. No more having to program temperature and time to run your tests, just start up the program and when it tells you its at the correct temperature, put in your samples and run it. It will let you know when your samples are ready to read.

How many samples can I run in the incubator at one time?

The small incubator fits 40 tubes while the large incubator fits 96. Please keep in mind that you will also need 2 slots for your control pair.

What do I need to get started on the i-Test?

You need an i-Test kit, an incubator, your plant samples, a pair of gloves, a way to track you samples, and bleach.

If you need more information on the list you need to get started, how to use them or how to get started, check out our intsructional video at: https://vernebio.com/protocols-training-videos/
